The Italian manufacturer’s FV Line of gearless, modular, tissue converting machines (distributed through Matik) combine “flawless, no-vibration embossing, precise vacuum folding and excellent printing.” The machines are also fully customizable. Its FV Line is currently under construction and includes a large FV.4 machine with 4 lanes – each one converting a 600 mm roll and two printing units. The FV Line can produce “uncountable” napkin types, each different in size and fold. The machine is fully controllable from the main touch panel and can reach a speed of 400 m/min and a maximum continuous output of 4,000 to 6,000 napkins per minute.
The FV Line is part of Omet’s upgrade of its on-board electronics to make the machines fully controllable from one main “pulpit.” The technology is standardized on all models, but can still be personalized (for all key operations such as folding and size changes) depending on the machine type and application. They can also be controlled remotely via video cameras with all adjustments made through servo motors. This saves time and waste while making all the operational data available for diagnostics and study. The series can also be easily connected to a user’s management software.
The upgrades improve operator safety (fewer touches and interventions), environmental impact (start-up and job changeovers require less time and fewer materials) and repeatability of maximum job quality.
