Access Labels, a leading Canadian label producer since 1993 based in Amherst, Nova Scotia, has installed Xeikon 3030 Digital Colour Press. Access is using the new press to supplement its flexo equipment, expand into new markets and better service the demands of its customers.
“The idea was to expand our base of small-run, high-quality products,” said Robert Sams, General Sales Manager at Access Labels. “With the advent of more organic and local foods booming, we wanted to position ourselves to offer this service, as well as offer to our existing flexo clients short-run options without large commitments. Our customer base includes many specialty food providers who demand high-quality labels – including vineyards, seafood providers and dairies. Since installing the Xeikon 3030, our customers now have access to all our expanding product offerings under one roof. This growth would not be possible without the Xeikon 3030. From our location in Atlantic Canada, we provide a robust product line and a high level of service our customers have come to expect. To keep pace with the needs of this loyal customer base – and to help us grow into new markets – we needed to move into digital.”
The Xeikon 3030 is a narrow-web, entry-level press developed for label converters who want to expand their business into digital production. In addition to prime label applications, it’s also suitable for producing promotional and transfer applications. The 3030 offers a high level of productivity due to its full rotary printing, which is independent of the number of colours being printed and the repeat length of the label. It also offers true 1200 x 3600-dpi resolution with a media width of up to 13 inches, and can handle a variety of substrates without pre-treatment or priming.

It’s gratifying to see how these features have supported Access Labels and its customers.”
