Annex Business Media has expanded its printing business with the purchased a Komori LS 8-colour 40-inch perfecting press from Komcan Inc., the Komori dealer for Ontario and Western Canada. The new press comes equipped with a full complement of automation features including APC fully automatic plate changers, PDC-SII close-looped colour control, AMR automatic make-ready, fully automatic wash-up systems and KHS Komori high-speed inking.
The new press will replace a 29-inch half-size eight-colour press at the company’s Simcoe, Ontario location. This expansion is driven by Annex Business Media’s recent acquisition of 15 trade titles from Vancouver-based Glacier Media.
“This purchase means growth for our Print Division,” said Lance Hill, Director of Plant Operations at Annex Business Media. “We will double our productivity, improve quality and lower our make-ready times and waste through automation.” Hill expects the new press to be operational by this summer.
Annex Business Media is Canada’s largest business-to-business media company with over 55 B2B titles and associated digital and event assets. Komcan Inc. operates from Georgetown, Ontario and is the authorized dealer for Komori equipment sales, parts and service in Ontario and Western Canada.
