Gilmore Reproductions (Ottawa, Ontario) has significantly upgraded its wide-format capabilities with a new Jeti Mira 2732 LED Wide-Format Printer from Afga Graphic Systems Canada. Gilmore Reproductions has been serving the needs of the design and AEC communities in the Ottawa area since 1983. With its roots in the AEC community, the company began with six people and quickly grew over the past 35 years to a group of companies (all under the R.E. Gilmore Investments Corporation umbrella) consisting of over 600 employees. Its original division, Gilmore Reproductions, is still serving the Ottawa region with a facility in Kingston, Ontario. Both locations offer a variety of services that include construction-plan printing, scanning services, large-format and small-format printing, and much more. Its large-format printing division continues to grow rapidly with interior and exterior wall graphics and signage, as well as custom finishing and installations. The acquisition puts the company in a position to become a Canadian leader in the large-format printing market.
The award-winning Jeti Mira is a moving-gantry flatbed printer that can produce exceptional quality prints up to 2.69 metres wide in six colours (CMYKLcLm) and white, with optional (3D) varnish or primer. It features LED curing, advanced 3D Lens Technology and a roll-to-roll option. It moving gantry can print on X and Y axes with precision. Seven-picolitre droplets produce detailed images and razor-sharp text – even in 4-point type, positive and negative. The Jeti Mira’s Print & Prepare mode enables loading on one side of the table while the other side is printing. Equipped with UV LED lamps for the curing process, it also offers major advantages in terms of performance, ROI, costs, maintenance, the environment and generating extra business, Agfa added.
