Pazazz Printing of Montreal recently acquired the first Xerox iGen 5 Press equipped with both an optional extended colour gamut and an optional capability to print on thick stocks. The new press will help Pazazz expand its current product mix, particularly in short-run packaging, according to Founder Warren Werbitt. It will also help enhance colour quality at Pazazz, which recently became the first printer in Canada to gain Pantone certification for colour printing.
“The first time I compared an image printed on the iGen 5 with four colours to the same image printed with five, I almost lost my marbles,” Werbitt said. “The fifth colour made it just so much more vibrant.” Pazazz also looked at presses from other vendors. “For our needs, the iGen, with its additional pigments, the thicker stock, and the larger sheet size, really made it the right choice. It helps us stay ahead of the curve,” Werbitt added. The iGen 5’s extended colour gamut is enabled by a fifth toner station that supplements CMYK with orange, green or blue to match a wider variety of spot colours, including up to 90% of the Pantone Plus Coated Library. The thick-stock capability enables the iGen 5 to feed, image and stack media as thick as 24 points.
Pazazz Printing specializes in integrated, cross-media marketing solutions, as well as UV offset printing up to 56 inches wide, digital printing, wide-format printing, labels and packaging.
