Go Niche at Graphics Canada

We are very excited to be so involved in this year’s Graphics Canada Show. Producing the show guide is definitely a great way to really be in the know. This month’s issue has some tips for the show that we thought would be helpful. Whether you are going to shop for something specific, or you are going to stay on top of the latest and greatest, planning your visit to a trade show is always a good idea, especially if you are trying to take in some of the great educational sessions as well. With the show now including many new pavilions highlighting such areas as packaging, 3D printing and design, you will want to do a bit of research.
As I confessed in the last issue, we are proud new parents. This, I have to admit has launched me into a world I am much less familiar with…mommy land! The beauty of this is the amazing room for growth and the new opportunities that such a shift provides. Now I’m not telling you to go have a baby…though they are quite cute. What I mean to point to is that as we have always said, opportunities exist in new places. Have you considered adding wide format, 3D or other such technology? Not to mention new markets – moms and babies create business growth…I mean even diapers have printing!
To inspire you further, check out the Inspired Projects column this month. Diana Brown shares some wonderful DVD box sets that feature beautifully packaged products. Could you make these in your shop? Would you know who to call for help with an inspired project?
We also have a quick-read article about Chili Publisher. This is a great piece of software that allows you to work very closely with your client on content creation. I saw the power of this software at Graph Expo last year as they announced their partnership with Esko. Chili can now preview 3D files, getting you one step closer to that DVD box set.
Lastly, we have a new author this month, Patti Ann Cochren, to give you something to think about with a discussion of her favourite branding successes…bet you share some of the favourites on her list! I know I did.
