Sydney Stone brings new compact Xante UV Printers to Canada

Print finishing specialist Sydney Stone (Toronto), the exclusive Canadian distributor of Xante equipment, has introduced two new flatbed UV printers to Canada that were launched at the Print 19 tradeshow in Chicago last November. The Xante X-16 and Xante X-33 UV Flatbed Printers are designed to meet the needs of commercial and in-plant operations seeking economical and compact solutions for printing “on the widest range of substrates possible,” said Sydney Stone. “A lot of our clients shy away from flatbed UV printers as they require huge amounts of floor space. The X series solves exactly that,” said Michael Steele, President of Sydney Stone. “The X-16 and X-33 are efficient, easy-to-use, highly automated and provide unparalleled output. They’re both designed keeping in mind today’s modern print shop.”
Attendees of Print 19 were “amazed” at the printers’ compact profile that can fit comfortably in any in-plant or print production environment. The UV flatbeds include simultaneous printing with white ink and CMYK inks for printing on an extremely wide range of substrates – including acrylic, metal, glass, ceramics and many more. Adjustable-height printheads on both models can accommodate substrates up to 6 inches thick. The X-33 Printer features a 24” x 36” bed with vacuum suction to hold substrates stable during printing. The X-16 features a compact 18” x 24” bed. Both printers deliver high-quality, full-colour printing at up to 1,440 dpi resolution.

Both printers are also powered by iQueue – Xante’s Adobe PostScript 3 PDF-based workflow software that powers the entire line of Xante’s products. From independent CMYK ink control to colour-profile management, to variable-data printing, to integrated white-ink control without modifying the original file, iQueue workflow software is “the easiest-to-learn, full-featured workflow software available to commercial print providers,” said the company.

Robert Ross, President and CEO of Xante, added: “Xante recognizes the demands placed on today’s commercial print providers for more efficient and varied printing capabilities. Our new flatbed UV printers, the X’s, give them the ability to deliver unique printed materials with amazing quality, easily and quickly. And of course, as with all Xante Products, the X’s are driven with our iQueue Adobe Postscript PDF Workflow.”
