Konica Minolta’s new desktop embellishing system, the AccurioShine 101, features specialized embellishment finishing, a small footprint, an affordable price point, and several multi-coating functions. Typical applications include business cards, invitations, flyers and direct mail. The 101 features:
• An air-suction paper feed that’s ideal for digital print documents. Users can adjust the amount of air to prevent two-sheet feeding.
• Easy-to-use touchscreen allows for various adjustments on the fly. Users can even automatically adjust the temperature by simply pressing a switch.
• A dust-removal function removes dust on the paper before laminating or transferring foil, to prevent issues with quality.
• Foils are optimally designed for the AccurioPress series toner. Excellent transfer characteristics mean high-quality embellishments achieved at a low price.
• Various embellishments can be performed simply by changing the film. No time-consuming or costly set-up is required.
Foil comes in gold, silver, white and a choice of colours, and the 101 also offers lamination, spot gloss and dry coating. The foils, available from third-party suppliers, are suitable for foiling over toner. The desktop solution has a simple and quick job set-up process, making embellishment available in-house “at a printer’s fingertips,” said the OEM. The AccurioShine 101 is especially ideal for runs up to 100. Other benefits include high value-added printing and high quality CMYK overprint on foil. Other special effects include lamination films and spot-gloss highlights. Easy operation enables the much shorter lead times ideal for affordable in-house operation.
