Friesens Packaging joins the Paperboard Packaging Council

friesensppc2-inWith the addition of new member Friesens Packaging, the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC, Springfield, MA) continues to cement its status as the leading association for rigid box manufacturers in North America. Founded in 1907 and headquartered in Altona, Manitoba, Friesens Packaging has grown from humble roots into a Canadian industry success story in rigid box technology and specialty commercial packaging for top publishers, professional sports organizations, retailers, and manufacturers throughout North America.

“Friesens is more than just a packaging company; it’s a group of employee-owners who are in constant pursuit of the highest quality craftsmanship in the trade,” said the PPC. Throughout its history, Friesens has demonstrated a strong commitment to the environment. By using only hydro-powered plants – which don’t produce air pollutants or toxic waste – and incorporating innovative techniques for lessening their ecological footprint, Friesens is also an industry leader in environmental stewardship. “On behalf of PPC’s Board of Directors and membership, I welcome Friesens to the association,” said Ben Markens, President of PPC. “With over 100 years in business, Friesens brings much valuable knowledge and industry expertise to PPC, especially when it comes to converting luxurious, specialty rigid boxes.”
Jody Penner.

“We’re excited to get involved in the PPC community,” said Jody Penner, General Manager of Friesens Packaging. “We hope our membership helps us grow as a business, not only through the association’s workshops and learning opportunities, but also as we meet our peers and exchange best practices.”
All PPC members also have access to webinars, whitepapers, and legislative updates. They get opportunities to attend informative biannual conferences, discounted registration to key training sessions like the organization’s Folding Carton Boot Camp, and can also participate in publicity-generating programs such as TICCIT and the North American Paperboard Packaging Competition. PPC also facilities several other communities of interest – including the Canadian Converters Committee, the Women’s Leadership Committee, and the New Generation Leaders group.
Now in its 87th year, PPC is the leading industry association serving suppliers and converters of all forms of paperboard packaging. PPC works to grow, promote and protect the paperboard packaging industry while providing its members with resources and tools to compete effectively and successfully in the marketplace.
