Fujifilm to debut Superia ZD Processless Thermal Plates at Print 17

At the Print 17 tradeshow in Chicago, Fujifilm North America’s Graphic Systems Division will debut its Superia ZD offset plate technology – a new addition to its processless plate portfolio for the commercial market. Making its North American debut in booth 2013, and complementing the OEM’s existing Superia Ecomaxx-T line of offset platemaking solutions, the new plate is a true no-process thermal plate with no effluent to dispose of, no additional consumables to contend with, and is also an environmentally-friendly option. “Superia ZD provides superior performance when printing under UV ink conditions, and also allows for improved run length in non-UV ink environments,” said Jim Crawford, Director of Consumable Sales at Fujifilm North America’s Graphic Systems Division. “UV durability was one of the key driving factors in this development. Fujifilm is thrilled for attendees to see this new technology on the show floor at Print 17.” Superia ZD features include:
Improved durability for longer run length capabilities on press that enables the plate to be used in a wider range of press applications – including UV print applications.
True processless technology that allows the plate to be imaged and mounted directly on press for immediate use.
No ablation.
Plate performance is further enhanced with Fujifilm Hunt premium fountain solutions. These include Superia PressMax JRDC-AB which is compatible with UV/LED-UV/H-UV or conventional inks, as well as the single-step Superia PressMax PPF-DC – a versatile fountain solution with a calcium control additive, also suitable for UV/LED-UV/H-UV or conventional inks. The Print 17 tradeshow is the largest gathering of the printing, publishing, in-plant, graphic communications and mailing/fulfillment communities in the Americas. It’s returning to Chicago September 10-14, 2017, once again at McCormack Place.
