Heidelberg Primefire 106 to make world debut at drupa 2016

Heidelberg Primefire Sheetfed Inkjet Press.

Using the theme Simply Smart, Heidelberg will present The Print Shop of the Future, while showcasing its entire lines of sheetfed offset and digital presses at drupa 2016, the world’s largest printing industry tradeshow May 31 to June 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany. About 1,500 exhibitors from over 50 countries will occupy drupa’s 19 expansive halls. Exhibitors will showcase all that’s new in the printing industry to an anticipated 300,000 visitors from over 120 countries.
Leading OEM Heidelberg will be showcasing the Gallus Labfire 340 and Printfire 106, amongst other hardware and technology. The former is a fully integrated web-fed label press with flexo and foiling stations preceding an 8-colour UV inkjet engine and leading to varnishing, semi-rotary die-cutting and slitting and rewinding stations. The integrated hybrid runs at 50 metres a minute.
The Heidelberg Primefire 106, which will make its world premiere at the show, is a 7-colour B1 sheetfed inkjet press, developed jointly with Fujifilm and aimed primarily at folding carton printers. But it’s also ideal for posters and calendars, variable-data printing and targeted marketing applications. It handles substrates up to 0.6 mm thick and runs up to 2,000 sheets per hour in optimum quality mode. Its Fujifilm Diamtix Samba printheads deliver 1,200 x 1,200-dpi resolution and output can also meet food packaging safety regulations. Heidelberg will also be promoting its Prinect workflow solutions, new generation of Speedmaster presses, and its Remote Service Network that links over 10,000 machines and 15,000 software products.
