Over 40 customers recently attended a special Open House at Heidelberg’s Print Media Center in Atlanta, Georgia that showcased Heidelberg’s expanding digital portfolio of solutions. The event gave customers a deeper understanding of how Heidelberg’s digital solutions can maximize their profitability while increasing their applications and optimizing their productivity. The Open House was the latest in a series of Heidelberg events designed to provide integrated customer solutions through specialized one-on-one engagement.

Highlights included the new Linoprint CV and CP digital printing systems alongside the new Prinect Digital Front End (DFE), which offers the ability to centrally manage jobs in a single workflow. Also highlighted was the OEM’s Prinect Color Toolbox that seamlessly matches digitally printed pieces to offset colour.
“We see digital as a part of the complementary mix in our customers’ print portfolio,” said Andy Rae, Senior Vice President, Equipment, Heidelberg USA. “Quality is a given across all platforms within the Heidelberg brand. It all comes down to cost-per-sheet. Customers were able to view our emerging digital portfolio and recognize our technologies as the most cost-effective choice for their business.”

While hardware was front and centre, many customers were impressed with Heidelberg’s objectivity in helping them find customized solutions.
“I feel that Heidelberg has positioned themselves well by not directing a client to digital or offset, but rather neutrally looking for what fits their needs best,” said John Hearn, owner of Phillips Printing (Nashville, Tennessee).
“Digital has been sold for a long time by digital-only providers and consequently they’ve pushed it in situations where it wasn’t the best solution. Heidelberg is continuing to strive to be a partner, not just a vendor, which is where they need to be.”
Jeff James.

“Heidelberg, in general, is always impressive. It was great to come and see the equipment, understand what Heidelberg is bringing to the market and how it could potentially impact our business in the future,” said, Jeff James, President, James Litho (Ontario, California). “I think they put on a great presentation explaining the technology, ROI and cost justification for their new equipment.”
Those in attendance also saw live equipment and workflow demonstrations, various technology presentations and participated in informative question-and-answer sessions.
