Heidelberg’s Promatrix 106 CS Die Cutter will make its U.S. debut at Graph Expo in Chicago September 13-16. This is the first opportunity to see this cost-efficient, automated die cutting machine in the Masterwork Machinery Booth 857. The Promatrix 106 CS can handle substrates from 65 lb. text to 48 pt. board. It outputs 8,000 sheets per hour, and has a maximum sheet size of 29.92” x 41.7” – matching the format of Heidelberg’s flagship Speedmaster XL 106 Press. Short set-up times are the result of smart automation and intelligent operator support, said the OEM. Other features include pneumatic support in the cutting and stripping station, cutting plate with fine adjustment, cutting chase with quick-lock function, stripping section with quick-lock frames and fine adjustment, motorized cutting-pressure adjustment and individually adjustable front lays.
Productivity enhancements include non-stop feeder, non-stop delivery with rolling carpet, elevation kit and miniature carton attachment (standard), gripper re-opening in case of misaligned sheets, and adjustable electro-mechanical double-sheet detection. This automation and support provide operators with additional time for production monitoring, speed optimization and quality control.
The Promatrix CS 106 is a further development of an existing MK platform, along with additional improvements and certifications (such as “GS,” a German seal denoting safe operation), and will be sold, supported and serviced exclusively by Heidelberg – similar to all Heidelberg Diana Smart and Diana X Folding Carton Gluers.
