Canon U.S.A. has announced the introduction of its imagePrograf Le MFP Series, designed to offer an entry-level, low-volume, large-format scan-to- copy/file/cloud solution. Succeeding the L Series, the imagePrograf Le Series offers improved productivity featuring a new scanner and new software. The new series consists of two models: the imagePrograf iPF770 MFP L36e and imagePrograf iPF670 MFP L24e. Both feature enhanced scanning capabilities, improved ease-of-use and flexibility to fit many environments. “As a company, Canon prides itself on reinvigorating our products to help stay ahead of the curve to meet customer demands,” said Toyotsugu Kuwamura, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A. “We recognized the need to provide a more affordable entry-level, large format, scan-to-copy/file/cloud device for the cost-conscious consumer.”
Among the enhancements built into both models is the ability to scan multiple documents into one PDF file. This advanced function will save users the time spent manually appending multiple scanned documents into one PDF. The devices offer a quicker release of documents from the scanner to help expedite workflows. While in the past the operator would have to wait for data to transfer to internal memory in order to obtain documents, the new models release the original copy as soon as scanning is complete. The scanner also has a new touchscreen user interface providing improved intuitive menus and easy-to-read on-screen text as scan jobs are managed. Through the new touchscreen panel, users can print to multiple printers on a network, or scan to multiple computers for improved productivity. A new Copy & Archive mode gives users the ability to scan-to-copy and simultaneous scan-to-file. There are also new copy scaling options that will help users complete their tasks with less effort.
Other enhancements to the Le MFP systems include greater file support for scanning to a USB thumb drive via the ScanApp Le on a PC (only). Users will now be able to save the same file formats – TIFF, PDF, multi- page-PDF and JPEG – to a USB thumb drive as they can to a PC. Additionally, users who have their device connected to a network are now provided with a variety of options on how to share their work, including the ability to scan to cloud, USB or PC. The inclusion of tabletop legs allows for placement in backroom offices and counters, as well as for increased portability. Alternatively, the scanner can be attached atop the printer to make it more accessible in print shops. The Le Series scanner utilizes the same SingleSensor Technology used in the more advanced iPF MFP M40 systems, which helps to provide consistent colour accuracy. With scan modes ranging from Draft to Best, the scanners allow users to easily regulate image quality. The systems also include a selection of commonly used print features including the cost-saving Economy Print Mode, borderless printing and a sub-ink tank system. Also included are utility and workflow software solutions such as PosterArtist Lite, Direct Print & Share, Print Plug-in for Microsoft Office and the imagePrograf Print Utility App.
