The Association for Print Technologies (APTech – Franklin, Tennessee) will host Unbound, a free virtual event for opportunities in industrial and functional printing, scheduled for September 15, 2021 from 10 am to 3 pm (EDT). The one-day virtual event and online tradeshow will showcase the many opportunities in functional and industrial print – where print is part of a manufacturing process used to decorate or enhance the functionality of products, or to create an entirely new product. Unbound will “expand the notion of what print means and explore what it can be,” said organizers. Opportunities for businesses of all sizes will be presented. Event sponsor is Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A.
“Print is more than ink on paper and it’s more than a medium that conveys a message,” said Thayer Long, President of APTech. “Look around and you’ll see something that’s been printed – wall coverings, flooring, glass, fabrics, ceramics, tiles, containers, toys, displays, electronics – the list is almost endless. This is the message of Unbound. We need to shake off the constraints of what we think print is, and look at what it can and could be.” Keynote speaker Sean Smyth, UK-based print consultant and industry expert for Smithers, will kick off the day’s events with a big-picture look at the market in his presentation The Industrial (Print) Revolution & What it Means for You. The seminar program that follows will encompass 12 sessions, featuring discussions with successful industry experts covering the basics of what it takes to build or grow a successful business.
Rachel Nunziata, in her session What You Must Know to Succeed in the Interior Décor Market, will share her first-hand expertise, tips and resources to help Unbound attendees grow their own décor printing business. Addressing the challenges and opportunities with industrial inkjet production, “Inkjet Evangelist” Craig Reid of CTR Resources will explore the use of inkjet technologies for an ever-expanding number of applications and challenging substrates in his session You Can Print on That?
