Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. has unveiled its new SD-513 Saddle-Stitch Finisher, with options for a square folding, creasing and trimming. The combination of producing professional, full-bleed, 3-side-trimmed, square-folded booklets makes the SD-513 Finisher the ideal solution for commercial printers and CRDs, said the OEM. The SD-513 facilitates the creation of thick booklets with inline speed. It can saddle-stitch booklets up to 140 pages (35 sheets) with smooth inline finishing, accept a wide range of paper sizes, handle weights from 50 gsm to 300 gsm, and enable two-position or four-position stitching. It also has multi-centerfold and multi-trifold capabilities and includes a top exit tray for easy access. With optional FD-504 square folder, CR-101 Creaser and TU-503 Slitter, the SD-513 system provides full-bleed saddle-stitched output, face-trimmed and ready to box – no need to go to bindery. Major features include:
- TU-503 Slitter Option – Slits the top and bottom of each sheet individually and with the combination of the standard face trim provides full-bleed, 3-side trimmed booklets.
- FD-504 Square Fold Option – Creates a square spine so the books lie flat.
- CR-101 Creaser Option – Creases cover sheet to prevent toner cracking.
The SD-513 is compatible with the following bizhub Press models: C1100, C1085, C1070, C1070P, C71hc, C1060, 2250P, 1250, 1250P and 1052. Both the SD-513 and SD-513/F are necessary to make a complete SD-513 workflow.
