The next meeting of the Digital Imaging Association (DIA) will take place Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Spicers, 200 Galcat Drive in Vaughan, Ontario. Refreshments will be served at 6 pm with the meeting starting promptly at 7 pm and ending at 8:30 pm. The topic will be both important and timely: How Secure is Your Security? It will be presented Ed Dubrovsky (MBA, MSc), Vice President of Professional Services and Corporate IT at the Herjavec Group – one of North America’s fastest-growing technology companies.
In 2013, there were 619 known data breaches in the U.S., often happening in business, education, healthcare and government, with nearly 58 million personal or financial records being exposed or stolen, according to the non-profit Identity Theft Resource Center. Cyber attacks are so rampant and sophisticated these days that some in government and law enforcement operations, as well as data security and IT, agree that they can’t be avoided! The news is also full of reports of security breaches – from firewalls, to customer data, to personnel data, to unauthorized facility access.
So how do printers assess their risks? How do you know when you’ve had a breach of your data? And how do you expand your knowledge and who do you turn to for help? Dubrovsky will have the answers for you – and much more. DIA Members and their guests will have the opportunity to learn where your business is vulnerable, and what steps you can take to protect your most critical, and often least-insured asset – your data. For instance, did you know that responding to a security breach during an incident can increase costs ten-fold? Learn how to identify and secure your critical information assets and protect your customer’s (and your own) intellectual property and brand. You’ll have an opportunity to discuss cyber-security industry best practices and best-of-breed technologies using real-world examples.
