The SGIA has announced that registration is now open for its 2017 SGIA Expo in New Orleans, Louisiana, October 10-12. With more than 540 exhibitors and over 40 educational and networking options, show owner and producer the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) pointed out that exhibitors will once again reflect a wide range of digital and analogue technologies. According to SGIA President & CEO Ford Bowers, products will include everything from screen mesh and dye-sublimation inks to grand-format digital printers and printed textiles. “We’re wall-to-wall with exhibitors who will show the latest technologies for graphics, garments, signs, digital textile, installation, printed electronics and industrial printing,” Bowers said. “The SGIA Expo floor is the place to find the newest products and techniques serving your markets.”
Over 40
educational sessions will fall into four tracks: Graphics and Sign, Garment Decoration, Industrial Imaging and Business Management. Supplementing them are workshops and conferences that will give attendees a deeper dive into their topics. These will include Wide-Format 101: Four Steps to Profitability; Your Business: Prepare for Success; Wrap Like a Pro; the Printed Electronics Symposium and much more
.
“There’s always something to learn in our industry, and the SGIA Expo is the place to learn it,” Bowers added. Classes are included in the Expo + Education Pass, free to SGIA members with registration. Workshops and conferences have fees outside the pass. Non-members can join SGIA during registration to take advantage of the Expo + Education Pass, or pay just $99 (USD) for it ($115 starting September 13).
Networking events are another avenue to learn at the Expo. Luncheons for tgarment decorators, industrial applications and sustainability communities, plus a breakfast for the Women in Print Alliance, will include speakers as well as networking times. According to Bower, hotel reservations are outpacing 2016 bookings.
“Activity in a hotel block is a good indicator of attendance,” he said. “The pace at which rooms are being reserved just reinforces that the industry is excited about the 2017 SGIA Expo.”
