Increasing profits will be the focus of the educational sessions at the 2015 joint convention of the Eastern Reprographics Association (ERA) and the International Reprographic Association (IRgA) April 9-11 at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia. As the reprographic industry evolves into new technologies, the convention provides a great opportunity to keep up to date, share ideas and learn how to best position their businesses for success. “I am excited about the unique opportunity to explore emerging and potentially game-changing technologies in furthering our completive advantages in the marketplace,” said Michael Shaw, ERA President. Highlights of the convention include educational sessions on the latest technologies, a keynote address focusing on competitiveness, and presentation of the annual George Bukovsky Award.
Two main educational sessions will be held on April 10, the main day of the convention. A panel of reprographics’ shop personnel who’ve been using the newest production print technologies will compare and contrast the latest offerings from the major players in the marketplace. A separate panel will discuss how to maximize revenue by charging appropriately for digital services – from scanning to document management to quality control.
Another highlight of the convention will be keynote speaker Jaynie L. Smith, author of “Creating Competitive Advantage” and a renowned consultant and speaker. Smith’s presentation will provide a fresh perspective on competitive positioning – including the framework for uncovering and touting your own competitive advantages to measurably increase customer retention and sales-closing rates. Her keynote address will take place Friday night, April 10.
The IRgA’s highest honour, the George Bukovsky Award, will be presented to Michael Cully, President of AIR Graphics in Boston at a banquet on April 10. The Bukovsky Award recognizes a member who has made significant contributions to the reprographics industry.
