Sun Chemical develops Online Troubleshooting Guide for digital aftermarket ink customers

sunchemicaltsguide-inSun Chemical has launched a new online troubleshooting guide designed to help its wide-format digital ink customers resolve common technical issues that can arise during printing. Specifically, the online website provides solutions to solve challenges clients may have with their digital printing. The guide uses both photos and descriptions to help a press operator identify which technical problem they’re facing. Then they can read the solution provided by Sun Chemical to resolve their particular challenge.
“Our digital aftermarket ink customers can benefit from this free tool that is designed to help them troubleshoot issues that can occur during printing,” said Penny Holland, Vice President of Marketing, North American Inks, Sun Chemical (pictured previously). “Our customers need to keep their printing equipment running smoothly and limit downtime. This online solution can quickly help them resolve problems. It’s just another way that we are working for our customers.”
In 2013 Sun Chemical released its Ink Dispenser Program, created primarily to help manage an over abundance of spot colour inventories at print shops. The program provides in-house ink dispensing for commercial and narrow-web tag and label shops. It allows customers to mix their own spot and process colours in the precise quantities they need, decreasing inventory costs while increasing colour accuracy.
Canadian customers using the program have reported that their spot-colour ink inventories have been reduced by 20%. Narrow web tag and label printers have reduced their ink spend by up to 45%, while commercial sheetfed shops have lowered ink spend by up to 35% when blending the inks in-house – and up to 46% if the blended inks were purchased directly, according to Sun Chemical. The dispensing unit is provided at no cost by purchasing a minimum annual amount of Sun Chemical bases and inks.
