Switzerland-based swissQprint, with offices in the U.S., has introduced new flatbed printers ideal for customers demanding “high output with uncompromising quality and vivid colours” on POS items, displays, posters, banners, backlit and other similarly demanding media. For the 4×4 model in the swissQprint Nyala 2 UV series, printing in quality mode (100 m²/h) delivers an “unprecedented” speed-density ratio. Results are impressive in terms of brilliant colours and fine details, said the OEM. SwissQprint also claims the largest colour gamut in fine-art mode. “Within an hour, it can produce 57 m² of the highest-quality printing – for backlit applications, as one example.” Both the Nyala 2 (3.2×2 m flatbed) and the Impala 2 (2.5×2 m flatbed) are also available as 4×4 models, meaning that each comes configured with four CMYK printheads. The colour configuration can be supplemented with an optional white or varnish channel to offer numerous possibilities – including printing of background or multi-layer white, or varnish for creating visual and tactile effects.
Configured to individual needs
SwissQprint’s characteristic modular design enables users to specify a large-format printer that exactly matches their needs. Both UV printers can be equipped with a roll-to-roll option, or a board option capable of handling media up to four metres long (i.e. twice the print-bed depth). Productivity-boosting tandem functionality comes as standard. SwissQprint also recommends “Rob” for handling regular, longer print runs. The robot loads and unloads rigid media onto the printer. It increases utilization and streamlines peak workloads by performing unmanned shifts. Rob is also compatible with the 4×4 models.
