Three leading Canadian companies have installed Agfa Graphics’ latest UV LED inkjet hybrid wide-format “workhorse” – the Jeti Tauro H3300 LED from Agfa Graphics Canada (Mississauga, Ontario). Montreal’s TC Transcontinental, Canada’s largest printer, was actually the first Jeti Tauro H3300 LED installation in North America. A long-term vision and a culture of anticipating customers’ needs, innovating and transforming, are the keys to TC Transcontinental’s success and ongoing profitable growth – and the H3300 is expected be a key part of that growth moving forward. The company is also a leader in flexible packaging in North America as well as a Canadian leader in its specialty media segments.
After a recent move to larger production facilities in Mississauga, Ontario, CJ Graphics, Canada’s most awarded commercial printer, has also added a Jeti Tauro H3300 LED to further cement its leadership in the wide-format sector. Cameron Advertising (Scarborough, Ontario), one of North America’s leading large-format print and solutions providers, also purchased a Jeti Tauro H3300 LED from Agfa Graphics Canada. The company is a foremost end-to-end visual communications specialist capable of print production, finishing and distribution throughout North America. Agfa Graphics’ new hybrid flagship Jeti Tauro H3300 UV LED wide-format printer is manufactured at Agfa Graphics’ head office and production facility in Mississauga, Ontario.
Extreme Productivity. Extreme Quality. Under the theme Extreme Productivity. Extreme Quality, Agfa Graphics launched the Jeti Tauro H3300 LED at the Fespa Global Print Expo, Europe’s largest exhibition for the wide-format printing industry May 15 – 17. “We believe that showing the engines themselves is not necessary to exhibit the potential of our printing solutions,” explained Kristof Van Cleemput, Global Communications Manager at Agfa Graphics. “We’re confident that our machines can tackle all requests a customer may have, which is why we put a multitude of high-quality, real-life printed applications at the center of attention at the show. They demonstrate the unique potential of our products, and both educate and inspire print service providers that want to make high-impact impressions on their clients. Visitors saw our latest machines, including the new Jeti Tauro H3300 LED, in a virtual operational environment using touchscreens and virtual reality glasses,” he added.
Building on the successes of the Jeti Tauro H2500 LED, Agfa Graphics “bigger, sturdier and faster” Jeti Tauro H3300 LED provides both smooth, detailed results and rapid UV LED curing. “Those who opt for automation will have fully automated multi-board loading and unloading of up to 4 boards, reducing idle time and increasing production efficiency even more,” said Reinhilde Alaert, Marketing Product Manager of Sign & Display at Agfa Graphics. “Its extreme speed becomes even more apparent in the roll-to-roll version, which is capable of handling heavy master rolls in single or dual-roll mode for a wide variety of flexible media. With the Jeti Tauro H3300 LED, we can offer the highest possible level of both quality and productivity, thanks to a new vacuum table and Agfa-patented vacuum belt design that keep print media perfectly flat under the print shuttle, guaranteeing both precise dot positioning and accurate media transport.” The OEM added that Jeti Tauro’s image vividness is created to last, even when subjected to harsh outdoor weather conditions. Due to the high pigment load of Agfa-made inks and Asanti’s ink-saving algorithms, “ink consumption per square metre is the lowest on the market.” The result is an ideal balance between quality, productivity and cost of ownership.
“Among other benefits, LEDs are durable – they generate consistent light output throughout their lifespans of about 10,000 hours,” Alaert added. “Also, the Agfa-developed and manufactured UV-curable inks match perfectly with the spectral emission of Tauro’s LED lamps. This guarantees deep instant curing and delivers dry output, outstanding adhesion on a broad media range, good scratch resistance, perfect colour stability, and so on. The fact that the Jeti Tauro H3300 LED relies fully on this technology is truly unique – it’s one of the engine’s many strong suits. Not only that, this hybrid UV inkjet workhorse is capable of producing visually stunning prints on media up to 3.3 metres wide at speeds up to 453 m2/hr, is able to keep going 24/7, and is convertible to enable different degrees of automation. It truly is one of a kind.”
Traditionally, Agfa’s printing solutions stand out because of their use of specially-formulated UV LED inks, which are suitable for a wide variety of rigid and flexible substrates. In combination with the OEM’s Asanti workflow and colour management software, these inks produce prints with the largest colour gamut and superior adhesion and durability, said the company. In addition, Agfa Graphics’ patented Thin Ink Layer technology guarantees the lowest ink consumption per square metre on the market, due to the inks’ high pigment load, and the unique colour management capabilities of Asanti. “This high level of quality, combined with the exceptional productivity that results from a combination of high-speed printing with a range of automation options, is at the core of Agfa Graphics’ Extreme campaign, which is reflected in the slogan: Extreme Productivity. Extreme Quality. All of these benefits are embodied by Agfa’s Jeti Tauro H3300 LED,” Agfa added.
