American Print Consultants, (APC – Chambersburg, Pennsylvania) a leading distributor of wide-format inkjet and textile printing equipment and supplies, has launched the Shima Seiki SIP-160F3 Direct-To-Garment (DTG) Flatbed Printer. The Shima Seiki SIP-160F3 is a “unique” DTG flatbed for printing directly onto a variety of finished items with the ability to print multiple items at once across the full bed. The head carriage can be raised or lowered according to the thickness of the item, up to 50mm (1.96 inches). This allows printing on fabrics with 3-dimensional textures, and even directly on completed products – including whole garment knitwear.
“We are very excited about the Shima SIP-160F3 Printer. Our roots are in textile and garment printing and this printer line fits in nicely with our current equipment portfolio,” said Rob Almstrom, Partner at APC. “We’ve had both models (TP and Acid) in-house for a while, but wanted to take out time to put them through their paces before customer placement. This printer offers our customers the ability to direct print on a variety of finished garments and items at a lower cost than other flatbed DTG printers in its class,” Almstrom added.
The new printer is available in two sizes with the option of three different ink types – textile pigment, acid and reactive. The textile pigment ink configuration includes white as a choice. The printer is also ideal for any company that currently does direct-to-garment printing and needs increased volume, or wants to print on a wider variety of items and sizes.
The Shima Seiki brand is a well-known Japanese-engineered and manufactured textile equipment manufacturer. American Print Consultants will be offering full package bundles of the Shima Seiki SIP-160F3 Flatbed Printer with a pre-treatment unit, dryer, and steam chamber.
