OEC Graphics (Oshkosh, WI) has opened its newest facility – OEC Vancouver located on Mitchell Island in Richmond, British Columbia, across the Fraser River from Vancouver. The new facility offers full-service platemaking and mounting capabilities to service the Greater Pacific Northwest market. Concentrating on a few OEC specialties (namely graphics coordination, high-definition digital platemaking and corrugated mounting services), this division of OEC is poised for growth, said Brad Vette, Corporate Director of Business Development for OEC Graphics.
“OEC is thrilled to have a Canadian operation,” he added. “We have had a vested interest in Western Coastal Canada with some long-term partners in the region, so it made sense for us to make further investment. OEC is excited to have the opportunity to introduce OEC to converters and consumer products companies in the greater Canadian market.” This marks the first time OEC has set up manufacturing outside of the United States. The address of the new Vancouver facility is 11300 Twigg Place, Unit 120, Richmond, British Columbia V6V 3C1.
OEC Graphics is a third-generation family-owned business and the largest and oldest privately held pre-media company in North America. OEC helps its partners test, improve and launch their products. These partners include industry leaders such as DuPont, Esko, Flint Infinity Certified, James Gandi, Kodak, MacDermid, Polymount, Durst, Henkel and Mimaki. The company is a globally recognized expert in flexography and, according to Esko, was the first North American prepress facility to be HD Flexo certified, passing Esko’s strict certification tests.
