Canon introduces PRISMAsync Mark 8 high-performance print server

Canon U.S.A. has released the PRISMAsync Print Server Mark 8 for the OEM’s imagePress C10010VP Series, imagePress C10000VP Series, imagePress C910 Series, and varioPrint 140 Series. The server is available for both new installations and customer upgrades on supported Canon imagePress and varioPrint series presses. Canon’s PRISMAsync Print Servers have helped printers achieve consistency across print campaigns using short-run, targeted digital print, and the benefits continue to evolve in this updated version. As the first DFE-embedded Idealliance G7 Certified System to combine in-RIP G7 calibration with a high-quality embedded colour profiler, the server offers many unique and intuitive colour tools to help users create “consistent, predictable and vibrant output.” This latest version introduces an Automated Color Tasks tool that combines multiple colour-management functions into one single customizable action.

Press operators are now also able to combine press linearization, G7 calibration, and media colour profiling of all press-loaded stocks into a single, automated make-ready function – helping to provide high accuracy while labour cycles are reduced while offering users the ability to attend to other critical tasks. The PRISMAsync Mark 8 Server offers an Advanced Imposition license option, which provides a new level of workflow flexibility to environments that benefit from more robust page and sheet formatting tools at the press, for applications such as direct mail, business cards and booklets. Other features such as Job Scheduler and expanded Automated Workflow functionality can help press operators meet tight deadlines and manage a growing number of shorter print runs, while tools such as PRISMAsync Remote Manager, Remote Control, Remote Match and PRISMAlytics Dashboard support production managers as they work to improve efficiency and increase productivity.
