Congrats to many – but this summer it’s your turn

Firstly, congratulations to the NBA Champions of the World, our Toronto Raptors! After watching the Raptors dismantle the Golden State Warriors dynasty in the finals this year, it really made me proud to be a Canadian. Seeing all the people from different races, religions and genders uniting together to support the Raptors was a special moment for all of us to share as a country.
So during these summer months, I challenge you to harness the spirited approach the Raptors took during their championship run of 2019 to improve your business. You might not be able to hire superstar professional like Kawhi Leonard or Marc Gasol, but you can always read the quality content written by our fantastic team of contributing authors at GAM to help formulate your next steps. Prepare a concrete plan to strengthen your team for the challenges that await. Then hopefully, with lots of hard work and a little luck, your team will become championship caliber professionals.
Speaking of professionals, Graphic Arts Magazine has been connecting the printing, graphic design, sign and packaging industry leaders of Canada for over 22 years. But these are your livelihoods – which is why your feedback is so important to us. So I invite you to participate in our Summer Readership Survey Contest. Your opinion helps guide and shape Canadian industry, and letting us know might win you some cash – just like Dave Peterson from Haines Frontier Printing in Sarnia, Ontario did in our May survey.
Another recognition must go to CJ Graphics of Mississauga, Ontario, who walked away with 24 of the 34 awards at The Ontario Printing & Imaging Association’s annual Excellence in Print Awards in Etobicoke, Ontario.
Finally, our research for the Wide Format Guide 2019 is progressing, and the second annual publication is scheduled to be released in October. But if you think your businesses’ capabilities are remarkable now, please let us know so we can promote you in our new Who’s Doing it Best Canada series. For more information, or to, advertise please call me at (905) 513-3999.
Traditionally, at this time of the year, we hope that you can get some much needed rest and relaxation and remember why we all work as hard as we do – for our families and for our loved ones.
As always, stay positive and stay focused.
