Kernow Coatings North America (Pittsford, NY), a global leader in high-performance print media, has launched MetaliK, a new range of highly reflective metalized media developed specifically for digital print processes. The new MetaliK range of materials is designed to add a “stunning level of luminance” and depth to colour prints. Using a propriety new technology to control static and maximize toner adhesion with a brilliant silver metalized finish, the new MetaliK line “opens new creative avenues for printers looking to take advantage of the growing interest in reflective and metal materials.” By utilizing a digital four-colour process on laser/toner and UV inkjet devices, printers can quickly create special effects, on-demand luxury designs, and versioned cartons straight from their print output device. “When combined with new advancements in white inks and toners, printer can take full advantage of MetaliK by creating bright accents without the need for a secondary process such as foil-stamping,” said the company.
“Kernow is renowned for manufacturing quality media and the development of MetaliK marks another breakthrough that will enable companies to confidently expand into high-end and lucrative applications such as luxury packaging, personalized greetings cards and direct mail,” said Bosy Colak, President of Kernow North America. In addition to bright silver, bright gold and bright copper, other versions will be available as the company continues to expand its MetaliK range to include new applications that are emerging in the marketplace.
