Whether you’re a student, recent grad, or professional designer, Creative Directions will provide you with a fresh perspective on the industry and how to establish, build and grow a rewarding career within it. It will take place Saturday, March 7 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Bram & Bluma Appel Salon, Toronto Reference Library (pictured previously), 789 Yonge Street (just north of the Yonge & Bloor intersection) in Toronto.
RGD members can attend the entire day for $75 and half day for $40. Non-RGD members can attend the full day for $110 and half day for $60. Bring your portfolio and have it reviewed by industry professionals. The event includes pecha-kucha style presentations by industry professionals on “The Worst Criticism I Ever Received” and “Misconceptions about the Industry upon Graduation.” Ilise Benun from Marketing Mentor will present “Networking Tips for the 21st Century,” and a panel of senior designers will discuss “Things I Wish I Knew.”
The Association of Registered Graphic Designers www.rgd.ca. is a hub for the graphic design community, promoting knowledge sharing, continuous learning, research, advocacy and mentorship. It works to establish professional standards, best practices and innovative thinking within the graphic arts industry and beyond. RGD currently has over 3,000 members.
