The Canadian Printing Industries Association was formed by industry leaders more than 75 years ago. Since that time, the CPIA has proudly represented printers and industry participants to government, ensuring that we are heard and considered in light of legislation and advocacy. Throughout the years, the CPIA has also served as an important resource for our industry as it relates information, education, networking and support for causes and/or professions. Annual CPIA conferences and General Meetings have involved the “Who’s Who” of those in the industry including the “movers and shakers” that touted the Association’s benefits, and with it, the might and valour of a prosperous manufacturing industry.
In more recent years, as the reality of a tougher economic climate emerged with increased pressure on our industry from non-traditional players and strong media convergence, printers were faced with the challenge of adapting their businesses in order to carry on in the new competitive landscape. The CPIA was also affected by this new reality and, just like many of those printers within industry who managed through those same fundamental challenges, the CPIA made some tough decisions in order to adapt to the new environment. Realizing that the old association model had ground to a halt and that drawing on a sense of duty to support a distressed industry would not be sustainable, the CPIA made significant changes to its structure in order to maintain its mission and commitment to membership.
The CPIA volunteer Board of Directors has worked incredibly hard to establish a sustainable path forward for the Association. A rejuvenated and comprehensive value proposition that is both unique and accessible by all industry participants is now in place. Based on partnerships and collaboration with other pertinent industry groups, the new CPIA structure offers membership at a very low cost while providing meaningful and tangible benefits for printers and the industry. The new association model enables the CPIA to offer indispensable and vital benefits to members while maintaining relevant and timely meaningful content.
The CPIA has listened to industry stakeholders and participants who have voiced concerns and opinions concerning the real value of an industry association. The CPIA has understood that the only way to increase participation, and collaboration, in our industry association is to make it relevant and easy to access from a membership perspective.
The CPIA has revitalized its value proposition and increased membership benefits while significantly reducing the cost of joining the association. For as low as $9.95 per month, a member can proudly participate in:
Significantly increased and relevant lobbying efforts for beneficial federal legislation to ensure Print is well represented within the coalition of Canadian
