The Group’s newly launched dayGraphica 4600 Heatset Blanket addresses three main challenges that directly affect press uptime – gauge loss, smashes and blanket memory – that limit blanket life and performance, said the company. “Flint Group’s technology team addressed all three concerns,” said Bill Branson, Flint Group’s Business Director – North American Blankets. “The effort involved substantial research, development and testing, and resulted in the new dayGraphica 4600 Heatset Blanket.”
The key, added Joe Byers, Global Vice President of Technology – Transfer Media Division, “was designing three new elements and combining them into one product. Built with a re-engineered carcass design, compressible layer and face rubber compound formulation, the dayGraphica 4600 heatset blanket significantly decreases the frequency and severity of the major blanket challenges in today’s pressrooms. For offset web printers, the longer blanket life translates into a notable increase in press uptime due to fewer blanket changes. This saves valuable time and costs.”
In the company’s initial technical literature, it listed major advantages as minimal blanket pull-down from torque, greater smash resistance and decreased severity and frequency of memory issues – in addition to longer life.
