The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that the HP DreamColor Display will be honoured at its annual Scientific and Technical Awards Presentation on Saturday February 7. Technical staff from HP and DreamWorks will be recognized at the ceremony for the development of the HP DreamColor LP2480zx Professional Display. The Display is receiving the Scientific and Engineering Award (Academy Plaque) for the impact it’s made in film “providing affordable, consistent and stable colour throughout the film production process.”
“A disruptive technology designed by HP with collaboration from its major studio customers, the HP DreamColor Display provides an amazing benefit to the film industry, addressing what was an increasingly critical need for affordable and consistent colour accuracy,” said Jeff Wood, Vice President, Worldwide Product Management, Commercial Solutions Business Unit, HP. “The display has become the gold standard for colour accuracy in major movie production studios around the globe.”
In 2014, HP announced two new colour-critical HP DreamColor Displays that achieved “new levels of affordability and colour accuracy.” At that time, the OEM added that each new feature in its HP Z27x and Z24x DreamColor Displays was a result of direct feedback from key movie production studios and customers looking for new ways to transform the way they work.
