Meredith Kopit Levien, Chief Revenue Officer of The New York Times Company, has announced that Sebastian Tomich, Brendan Monaghan and Jean-Christophe Demarta will each assume the role of Senior Vice President (SVP), effective immediately.
Tomich has been named SVP for Advertising and Innovation. In this role he will continue to lead the expansion of T Brand Studio, The Times’ commercial content studio, and lead efforts on ad innovations, working closely with the Product and Ad Product teams. He will also continue to lead a number of advertising category teams including corporate, healthcare, advocacy and the D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas sales offices. Tomich was most recently VP of advertising and branded content, where he led the national integrated sales teams across multiple categories along with The Times’ branded content business and T Brand Studio. Before joining The Times he was Director of East Coast advertising at Forbes Media.
Brendan Monaghan will assume the role of SVP for advertising, and maintain his role as publisher of T: The New York Times Style Magazine, a position he’s held since October of 2013. Monaghan will continue to oversee the luxury category and will assume leadership of the CPG and liquor categories. In addition to serving as publisher of T, Monaghan was most recently VP of luxury advertising. Before joining The Times, he served as associate publisher of Conde Nast’s GQ magazine.
In his role as SVP, Demarta will continue to spearhead The Times’ global advertising efforts, managing ad operations across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, as well as the International New York Times sales teams. In addition, he will work even more closely with the sales teams in New York and national sales offices throughout the U.S. as The Times continues to expand its U.S. business to international markets. Demarta, who joined The Times in 1999 as Ad Director, was most recently VP of Global Advertising.
