The Ellis Group adds fourth Komori Press from Komcan

The Ellis Group, a Pickering-Ontario-based packaging services company (with additional locations in Mississauga and Guelph, Ontario), has installed an eight-colour Komori Lithrone GX40 Press equipped with full UV and logistics capabilities from Komcan Inc. (Georgetown, Ontario), the Komori dealer for sales, parts and service for Ontario and Western Canada. The Ellis Group chose the press for its speed, waste reduction and robust inspection system that “ensures defect-free printing.” Serving clients in the food, beverage, confectionery, pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals sectors, the new press makes it possible for the printer to further expand its capabilities while delivering faster turnaround times, exceptional print quality for high-end packaging and greater operational efficiencies in the pressroom.

The 41-inch press is equipped with Komori’s fully automatic non-stop feeder and delivery, an essential component to high productivity in packaging production. The high-speed press handles a wide range of stock from 8 pt. to 40 pt. board and features a PQA-S sheet inspection and colour control system, especially critical for the packaging markets. Installed on a 36-inch raise, the press and logistics system are ideal for maximizing paper handling and fast job turnarounds.
