Durrett joins Bell and Howell as Vice President of Marketing

Ramesh Ratan, CEO of Bell and Howell, has announced that the company has hired Mark Durrett as its new Vice President of Marketing. Based out of the company’s headquarters in Durham, NC, Durrett will oversee Bell and Howell’s activities in demand generation, market intelligence, brand development and corporate communications. Durrett has more than 25 years’ experience in marketing, product management and engineering leadership roles with entrepreneurial, growth-stage technology companies. Most recently, he served as VP of Marketing and Product Management at cyber-threat intelligence start-up Emerging Threats, which was acquired in 2015 by Proofpoint. “Bell and Howell has completed its turnaround to profitability and is now investing in growth initiatives,” said Ratan. “I look forward to Mark’s leadership in marketing to help drive that.”

Durrett’s distinguished career also includes serving as VP of Marketing at Overture Networks, founding Publisher-Editor of CarrierEthernetNews.com, and Global Marketing Co-chair of the Metro Ethernet Forum. He has designed and marketed technology solutions for industry pioneers such as Hatteras Networks (which he also co-founded), Covelight Systems, NetEdge Systems and Wandel & Goltermann. Durrett earned his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University. In addition to contributing to numerous industry standards organizations, he holds a U.S. patent for a method of providing Ethernet service.
