The Touchpoint 3D Fab + Print area should be a popular meeting point at drupa 2016, the world’s largest printing industry tradeshow (May 31 to June 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany) for visitors interested in learning about 3D printing. This special show in Hall 7a (Stand C41) will explore 3D technologies for a wide range of applications and their market potential. “The purpose of the Touchpoint 3D Fab + Print is to drive technical integration and to pave the way for new cooperative ventures in matters of branding and production,” said Sabine Geldermann, Director of drupa 2016. “The Touchpoint will bring together the traditional printing industry and visionaries in 3D printing, offering opportunities to explore the industrial potential of 3D printing and additive manufacturing techniques.” The organization and on-site implementation will be handled by KCI Publishing of the Netherlands.
Another important element at the Touchpoint will be a program of about 70 presentations. Insights into production processes and the application spectrum of 3D technologies will be offered by 3D pioneers AMR (Netherlands), Aviv3D (Israel) and Massivit (Israel). The market potential of 3D printing will be presented by international market research institutes such as Gartner (U.S.) and Smithers Pira (U.K.). Another key topic will be the legal aspects of 3D scanning and printing – addressed by DWF (U.K.) and Cohausz & Florack (Düsseldorf). The program will also include presentations by Arjo Wiggins, Blueprinter, Caldera, Canon and the IPP Printer Working Group. Each half-hour session will consist of a brief talk (10 to 15 minutes), followed by a question-and-answer exchange. Participation is free for drupa visitors and registration isn’t required. The detailed program will be held each day except May 31 and June 10.
