With more than 20 years’ experience in digital printing, Gernot Schneider’s role will be to support the Nilpeter customer base with his extensive technical knowledge of its Panorama product line. “Gernot’s in-depth Inkjet knowledge and technological curiosity will be extremely beneficial to the Nilpeter digital team,” said Søren Ringbo, Nilpeter General Manager of Digital Products. Schneider has an impressive track record in the industry, having held management positions at Screen Europe, HP Indigo, and as Managing Director of ARTC consultancy.
“I firmly believe that the key to success is reliability and top quality – and I find that Nilpeter has the best product offering in inkjet and its conventional combinations – backed up by the most solid market know-how,” said Schneider. “I believe that abstaining from making things overly complicated is the way forward. The converters I come across express their need for reliable workhorses with impeccable printing quality – and that’s where Panorama comes into the picture. Our aim is to be provide the optimum consultancy by listening to customers and thereby come up with the perfect solution in each specific case,” he added.
Nilpeter’s integrated Panorama Inkjet Press combines the OEM’s expertise in web handling technology with advanced inkjet printing and workflow. The Panorama product line produces a variety of label jobs in short-to-medium run lengths with minimum waste. Nilpeter has also adapted several of its inline finishing modules to digital production. They include a web infeed, varnishing unit, QC-Die-cutting system, smart matrix stripping, length slitting and small-roll dual rewinds. A mark sensor allows the precise re-inserting of webs for reverse printing, or overprinting of pre-printed webs, including variable data. The Panorama has a maximum printing width of 12.67″. It prints up to 164 feet per minute using paper or film label laminates from 90 to 350 microns. This comparatively high level of productivity equates to 173 square feet per minute. High-definition UV-inks are used for CMYK, with an opaque white ink as standard for printing transparent films and metallic foils.
