Konica Minolta releases bizhub C658 MFP Series

Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. has introduced the latest in its series of Multifunction Printers (MFP’s) – the bizhub C658 series. The new MFP colour series includes the bizhub C658, C558 and C458, and further expands Konica Minolta’s A3 product line-up. The series is ideal for a broad range of users, including medium to large businesses and corporate environments with high-quality colour output needs. With output speeds of up to 65 ppm and built-in print control, this new series provides high-volume printing in a user-friendly platform.
“The C658 series enables users to operate our products as easily as they would a tablet,” said Kevin Kern, Senior VP of Business Intelligence Services and Product Planning at Konica Minolta U.S.A. “The enhanced 10.1-inch control panel offers increased functionality, including mobile Near Field Communication (NFC), making it simple to connect the units to your Android smartphone or tablet. In addition, IOS support is available with the utilization of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), among many other mobile technologies. Plus, with fast dual scan speeds and large paper capacity, the new series increases the digital workflow automation capability in any business environment.”

The series features Konica Minolta’s exclusive bEST (bizhub Extended Solution Technology), an open interface technology that serves as a shared platform for enhancing the work environment. bEST provides seamless integration of third-party software to benefit a range of industries – including healthcare, education and legal.
With a standard web browser and 4GB of installed memory, users can access downloadable apps via the bizhub Marketplace, including the recently released bizhub Marketplace Chameleon. This new app provides “unparalleled control panel customization and MFP device control to increase users’ productivity and enhance their MFP experience,” said the OEM.
Among the series’ features are a 6,650-sheet maximum paper capacity in a wide range of sizes and weights (including tab printing support), an optional Fiery image controller, and optional hard-disk mirroring. The C658 series marks an increase in the use of recycled materials to 35%. The models also give users the ability to control power consumption with one-touch activation.
