The 2016 Print World Tradeshow, held every two years and scheduled for the Enercare Centre (formerly the Direct Energy Centre) at Exhibition Place in downtown Toronto, was officially cancelled late Friday, November 11. In an e-mail to over 860 participants, show Manager Sandy Donald said: “It is with regret that I have to inform the exhibitors, visitors, sponsors and all others that the Print World 2016 Trade Show will not be held on November 19th to the 21st. Due to many unfortunate circumstances that were not in our control, we have had to make this hard decision. Again, we are deeply sorry for the hardship and inconvenience this has caused.” The show, traditionally for shorter-run printing, would have been one of the last industry tradeshows in a year highlighted by drupa, Graph Expo, SGIA, Sign Expo Canada and numerous other industry events. By strictly limiting the size of offset presses on exhibit to 29″ (4-up to 6-up sheet size) and smaller, the show was always able to focus visitor interest solely on this growing market.
