Global manufacturing leader SDS Korea, and sales and service partner AdamsTech (Boulder, Colorado), are combining forces in North America to bring new manufacturing capabilities to clients in the U.S. and Canada. SDS/AdamsTech has been selling and servicing automated machines for the steel rule die-making and die-cutting industry for almost 20 years. EasyBender, its flagship product, is the acknowledged leader in automated steel rule benders worldwide – and the company is the inventor and original patent holder of this revolutionary technology. “We’re very excited to announce the formation of a new company, SDS/AdamsTech, with our longtime manufacturing partner, SDS,” said Mike Adams, co-founder and former President of AdamsTech. “We’re likewise pleased to announce that Ellen and I, though still available for SDS/AdamsTech and customers as consultants, are happily passing on our leadership responsibilities as we enter the next stage of our career.” The new company will begin manufacturing SDS machinery in Irvine, California, as well as continue sales and service of other products such as Cutlite Penta Lasers and Delta Diemaking equipment from its facility in Boulder, Colorado.
Assuming the role as President of SDS/AdamsTech will be Tony Lim of SDS, who’s both a familiar face to AdamsTech customers and has been a partner of the company for almost 20 years. Key employees who will continue with the new company include Connie Adams, James Cross and John Wiley, as well as the technical support staff known for their “best-in-class” support (many of whom customers know personally), including Brad DeHaan, Sara Fox, Don Hill, Kyle Kermoade and Andy Park. AdamsTech and SDS have long anticipated this evolution into one company. The firm added that its combined forces as a global manufacturing leader of both automated channel letters and steel rule fabrication, with expertise in sales and service, “will lift the new company and its products to the next level. Look for even more innovations in die-making and sign-making from SDS/AdamsTech.”
In January of this year, AdamsTech announced the release of the NS2 (above), its newest machine in the SDS EasyBender Series of automated steel rule benders. Unlike other machines that process the rule in both directions before bending, this machine finishes pieces more quickly with a single forward linear motion. Its patented bending mechanism and its high level of precision allow for intricate bends and fully closed shapes that fit the die the very first time. The EasyBender NS2 can be configured for 1.5, 2, 3, and 4-point rule up to 2 inches high. Patented, adjustable-height notching, cutting, perforation and mitering tools, as well as inline nicking and broaching, are just a few of its advanced features.
