Crawford releases newest version of its software solutions

Toronto’s Crawford Technologies, a provider of document solutions that streamline, improve and manage customer communications, has released the newest upgrade of its software suite, CrawfordTech Digital Transform Engine (DTE) 4.5. Key enhancements and product extensions included in CrawfordTech DTE 4.5 “reflect the company’s commitment to provide customers with new features, customer-requested improvements and performance enhancements biannually.” CrawfordTech DTE is the core software infrastructure that’s used in all of its print and document conversion and enhancement products.
DTE is used to power a wide range of products that include: the ability to convert from virtually any print format to another; transform from print formats to electronic formats such as PDF and HTML; convert documents into Section-508-compliant accessible formats; incorporate document enhancements such as adding barcodes, colourizing elements, performing postal sorts, combining multiple documents into one; split a single print file into multiple document files; extract data from print files and documents for indexing or reconstitution purposes, and much more. The product suite also includes the PRO Designer WYSIWIG design tool.

“The improvements we’ve made in this new release are a true example of Crawford Technologies’ commitment to customer-driven development,” said Ernie Crawford, President and CEO of Crawford Technologies. “Over 60% of the changes and improvements are a result of feedback from our customers. Obtaining this valuable insight makes it possible for all of Crawford Technologies’ software solutions to continue to evolve in step with our customers’ business needs.”
Key product extensions in CrawfordTech DTE 4.5 include:

  • New features in PRO Designer that make it easier to design tagging rules to convert complex documents into accessible formats. In addition to accessibility support, PRO Designer now features expansion of wizards for additional easy-to-use functionality.
  • The extension of the MasterONE architecture to support the capability to transform any print stream into Accessible HTML5 to automate the process of creating accessible web documents. It’s now possible to easily convert transactional documents into Accessible HTML5 for a variety of customer delivery channels to meet individual delivery preference needs.
  • Access to the newly launched Auto Tagger for Accessibility, which automatically converts virtually any document into Accessible PDF or Accessible HTML5-tagged formats, making it possible to more easily provide those who are blind or partially sighted with the information they need in their preferred format.
  • To support the growing migration to high-speed inkjet technology, additional new features in CrawfordTech DTE 4.5 include enhanced support for IJPDS. One key IJPDS improvement is the added support for multiple RIPs per ink. Improvements have also been made to simplify the printhead configuration for inkjet print applications.
