DIA’s next meeting to explore how bad records can ruin good mailing data

The next meeting of the Digital Imaging Association (DIA) Wednesday, November 15 at Spicers (200 Galcat Drive, in Vaughan, Ontario) will cover: When Dirty Data Gets You Down! Is your mailing list currently characterized as garbage-in, garbage-out? The truth is that validating mail addresses not only benefits the mail marketing campaign by improving the deliverability and open rates, it also protects your sender’s reputation. Unless it’s received directly from your client (or IT department), who swears that it’s the best data you’ll ever see, and practically perfect in every way, then what do you do? Do you send it back or do you spend hours trying to fix it yourself?

Kristi Kanitz.

Kristi Kanitz, General Manager of Flagship Software Limited (Richmond Hill, Ontario) and Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Major Mail Users (NAMMU – the Canadian mailing industry association), will take attendees on a tour of the ‘inner city of addressing.’ From entry errors to questionable queries, to droves of duplicates, she’ll introduce you to the bad records that can ultimately ruin very good data. Discover proactive ways to avoid creating these problems, as well as best practices for dealing with the bad data that makes it through – and get that dirty data clean! Refreshments will be served at 6 pm, the meeting will start promptly at 7 pm and will end promptly at 8:30 pm.
