Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Canada) has announced the recent grand re-opening of its newly renovated corporate office in Edmonton, Alberta. The original facility was built 23 years ago, and the transformation took about ten months to complete with an investment of over one million dollars. The decision for Konica Minolta to re-invest in its Edmonton facility was well-timed. Although the city struggled during 2015 and 2016, its economic growth relative to the rest of Canada has been strong this year – and the outlook remains positive. Konica Minolta currently generates over $18 million annually in the Edmonton area, employs 55 full-time workers, and supplies office technology solutions to businesses of all sizes. The company also supports numerous local community initiatives and is a preferred partner of the Edmonton Oilers hockey team and the Edmonton Eskimos football team.
The company held its grand re-opening on November 9, 2017, with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony that included local dignitaries, software vendors and customers. The event also served as an innovation showcase and featured a special keynote from Stew MacDonald, Edmonton Oilers’ Executive Vice President. Titled Embracing Change and Partnerships in the Workplace, MacDonald addressed the role that detailed planning, partnerships and technology play in today’s fast-changing working environment.
