On Wednesday December 6, at The Boulevard Club in Toronto, the Digital Imaging Association (DIA) presented The Age Of Disruption: Everything Has Changed and Nothing Is Different. Keynote speaker was Scott Stratten, President of Un-Marketing and one of the leading speakers and authors in the world when it comes to helping audiences embrace the age of disruption. He’s written five best-selling business books and was formerly a music industry marketer, national sales training manager, and a Professor at Sheridan College’s School of Business. Stratten, an advocate of UnMarketing, UnBranding and UnSelling, reminded attendees that not all Canadians are passively polite. Businesses like PepsiCo, Saks Fifth Avenue, IBM, Cirque du Soleil, Microsoft and others have been brave enough to seek his advice – to the point that he’s been named one of the Top 5 Social Media Influencers in the world by Forbes.com. Stratten presented a fascinating look into today’s disruptive industry environment and peered into the future of our industry. At the annual celebration, the DIA also revealed its Board of Directors for 2018 (above). Graphic Arts Magazine would like to congratulate the DIA, and especially Association Manager Marg Macleod, for putting together some important events during 2017 that dealt with key aspects and issues that affect our industry today – and will affect our industry as we move forward.
