So what’s a leading printing OEM doing at a U.S. builder’s show? Well, Fujifilm will demonstrate its industrial inkjet applications at the National Association of Home Builders’ International Builders Show (billed as the world’s largest light construction show) at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, January 9 – 11. Within booth W7689, attendees will experience Fujifilm Inkjet Technology innovations, including the StarFire SG1024 Industrial Inkjet Printing System – a piezo inkjet printer featuring Fujifilm LED UV inks – primarily supporting the construction industry by offering high-speed printing with configurable widths for printing on construction materials (in addition to decorative applications).  This tech was pioneered with Simonds: Australia’s Leading Home Builder (Award Winning) and has made a huge splash in the southern hemisphere. The StarFire SG1024/MC-2C printhead is a compact self-contained unit built to withstand the harsh environment of industrial ceramic production. It uses field-proven materials to deliver consistent output over a long service life, with continuous ink re-circulation and two-colour operation at 200 dpi. It’s also equipped with a single, replaceable metal nozzle plate that’s designed to withstand abrasion.

“We’re excited to demonstrate the StarFire SG1024 Industrial Inkjet Printing System at IBS,” said Timothy Rosario, Senior Product Manager, Fujifilm Inkjet Technology. “On the show floor, attendees will have the opportunity to see and touch output from this innovative system.” The system utilizes Fujifilm Dimatix StarFire SG1024 printheads configured to meet a customer’s specific requirements, and can also be configured in widths of 2.5 inches to 85 inches, with up to 8 printbars, printing spot colours and beyond, with process colours enabled by CMYK. Support for up to 8 individual product triggers is possible, allowing its own timing for each printbar. The system allows for product branding with monochrome or colour graphics with instant change-overs, thus benefiting the supply chain with the potential to increase sales. It’s ideal for printing construction materials and decorative applications – including house wrap, vapour barriers, siding, ceiling tiles and wallboard.
