On April 25 at approximately 10 pm, the head office and pressroom of Metropolitan Fine Printers (MET) located in Vancouver, British, Columbia was destroyed by fire. Fortunately, no employees were hurt or injured. The company is currently working with the Vancouver Fire & Rescue authorities to determine its cause. Contingency plans were initiated almost immediately, and MET anticipates that there’ll be minimal disruption to its business. All of MET’s back-up servers are intact, and all data is safe and undamaged, said the company. MET’s Calgary and other Vancouver locations are now functioning normally, and the company is working closely with its suppliers, vendors and clients to ensure business continuity.
“We’re very thankful that all of our employees are safe, and that no one was hurt during this fire,” said MET President Nikos Kallas. “We appreciate the support we’re receiving from our industry colleagues, and are exploring all options to ensure that we can continue to serve our valuable clients.” Founded in 1977, MET is one of North America’s foremost award-winning printing companies.
