GPA expands its UV inkjet synthetics portfolio for Konica Minolta and Komori press users

GPA (Chicago, Illinois), specialty substrate providers to the digital, offset and flexographic printing sectors, has released a new line of digital synthetics and self-adhesives specific to the Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1 and Komori Impremia IS29 platforms. “UV inkjet printers have told GPA they want greater utilization of presses for broader, more profitable applications,” said the company. “The simplicity and availability of GPA’s press-specific stocks enable just that.” The portfolio is broad with a range of rigid vinyl, synthetic paper, self-adhesive vinyl and paper, and even Digifly Printable Canvas – all available in UV Inkjet sheet sizes ready to ship from GPA’s warehouses. Packs of 100 sheets or cartons of 300 sheets are available. Additionally, since different applications require different performance characteristics and economic needs, GPA is offering the new products in two options – a proprietary UVIJ top coat version for maximum performance, as well as a traditional non-coated version for general use.

“We have continued to see window, wall and floor graphics migrate to UV Inkjet platforms in the current economy, and this portfolio supports that demand as well as the pent-up demand for traditional applications as the economy recovers,” said Craig Surette, GPA’s Director of Business Development.
Mary Ann Geers.

MaryAnn Geers, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Strategy, added: “The durability of UV inkjet inks combined with GPA’s synthetic substrates and coatings, allows printers to skip lamination and UV top-coating for unbelievable performance and market responsiveness. These stocks simply accelerate printers’ speed to market and profitability.”
