Publiforme, a leading sign company based in Sherbrooke, Quebec, recently acquired a new large-format UV inkjet printer – Agfa’s Anapurna H3200i LED, a hybrid UV LED inkjet printer that can print on both roll material and rigid media up to 10 feet in width. The company specializes in digital signage, indoor and outdoor displays, vehicle design and lettering, wayfinding signage and much more, in addition to creative design services. Their new Anapurna will help Publiforme to better serve its clients and expand application versatility, while improving productivity and overall print quality.
The Anapurna H3200i LED is a hybrid UV LED-curable inkjet system for indoor and outdoor applications with an average print speed of 600 square feet per hour. It’s ideal for sign shops, digital printers, photo labs and mid-size graphic screen printers that want to combine board and roll-to-roll projects. Popular applications include banners, posters, exhibition graphics, POP, mock-ups, backlit, front-lit, self-adhesives (labels), and more. Niche applications include DVD printing, wood, art reproductions, personalized object printing, architectural and interior decoration, ceramics printing, and more. Its white-ink function creates possibilities for printing on transparent materials for backlit applications, or for printing white as a spot colour.
The printer is fitted with air-cooled 16-watt/cm² UV LED lamps that save energy, costs and time. Due to their minimal energy output, these LED lights are ideal for printing on thin, heat-sensitive materials. Because of its reinforced belt drive and shuttle beam, the Anapurna H3200i yields highly accurate dot positioning and thus excellent image quality. Eight 12-picolitre printheads guarantee excellent solids, fine-text reproduction down to 4 point, good tonal rendering and low ink consumption. Its automatically controlled vacuum system consisting of four zones, delivers an equal vacuum during the printing process, whether printing on roll or rigid materials. This ensures stable media transport, further yielding accurate print results at all times.
