The School of Graphic Communications Management (GCM) at Toronto’s Ryerson University has experienced a significant increase in fist-year applications for the upcoming academic year. Since becoming a pilot program scholarship partner, GCM has increased its promotional efforts in partnership with Canadian Print Scholarships (Canadian Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund – CPISTF). This included representation at the Ontario University Fair held last September. “We promoted the scholarship heavily at the fair and have increased applications by 43% overall,” said Jason Lisi, Chair of Ryerson’s GCM. “We also have a 65% increase in the high-performing applicants the scholarship targets.” In total, the CPISTF has approved programs in 9 schools across Canada from Halifax to Vancouver, as well as at Ryerson. So regardless of where your business is located, your donation will help eager students all across the country to become part of our great industry.
“This is evidence that our scholarships really do work as an incentive to attract the brightest and best students to the graphic communications industry,” said Jeff Ekstein, Chair of Canadian Print Scholarships. “In September of 2019, Canadian Print Scholarships awarded 68 new and returning students at five schools across Canada with scholarships for the 2019/2020 academic year valued at $1,500 each. This was the most our organization has awarded in a single year.”
Ken Freek, Executive Director of Canadian Print Scholarships, added: “We rely on the print community to support our scholarships and hope that more companies and organizations will see the positive results we can achieve together.” The mission of the Canadian Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund (CPISTF) is to attract the brightest and best students available to the graphic communications industry by providing financial assistance to enroll and continue in a post-secondary management or technical program at an approved institution.
