Grimco has been making deliveries of quality sign and graphic supplies in Edmonton for more than 25 years from its Calgary office. But the company is now expanding to the local area. The new office will be located at 15427 115A Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta T5M 3S7. “We’re extremely excited about the opening of our new branch in Edmonton,” said Mike Bolinger, President of Grimco Canada. “We’re committed to providing the best products and service across Canada, and opening a location in Edmonton allows us to service our customers better in this market and beyond.” Grimco Canada, which also has Canadian locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Dartmouth, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Grimco Incorporated, which is based in St. Louis, Missouri. The company was originally founded in 1875 and since then has evolved into a full-service sign supply company that operates in 52 locations across Canada and the U.S.
Grimco is named for its founder William Grimm. From 1875-1970, the company was known as Grimm Stamp and Badge. In the 1950s, Grimm Stamp and Badge evolved from a manufacturer of police and fire badges, branding irons and other stamped metal prodcuts, to a sign manufacturing company focused on traffic signs. In the late 1950’s, Grimco introduced silk-screened traffic signs. Within 15 years, screen-printing signs became the industry standard. By 1980, Grimco began selling signs to distributors and catalogue companies. This proved to be successful and in the late 1980s, Grimco extended its product range to include sign supplies. In 1999, Grimco had locations solely in St. Louis, MO and Owensville, MO. In order to more efficiently service its customers nationwide, it began opening branches through acquisitions and start-ups across America. Today, its sign supplies include traffic signs and blanks, substrates, digital print media, sign vinyl, inks, sign frames and stands, large and grand-format solvent, aqueous and UV printers and much more.
