W+D North America (Lenexa, Kansas) has announced that digital printing industry veteran Michael Ring has joined the company as Executive Vice President of New Business Development. Reporting to President Shaun Kilfoyle, Ring brings proven management, sales, marketing and international business experience from a career spanning over 30 years. Starting at Xerox in 1988, he subsequently held management positions at Georgia Pacific, Kodak, Xeikon, and Gallus-Heidelberg. At Xeikon, Ring was the President of Xeikon North America and Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. Most recently, and just prior to joining the W+D team, he headed Gallus-Heidelberg’s efforts in the digital label printing market while residing in St. Gallen, Switzerland. According to Kilfoyle, Ring’s extensive understanding of digital printing technologies – with expertise in the commercial-printing, label and packaging markets – will be invaluable to W+D as it evaluates its digital printing opportunities in the North American mail segment.
